Ty Musical
.Our transition year musical was a funny, hyper dramatic and in general an odd show called "Legally Blonde". Which in short is about a college girl who makes it into Harvard Law just to follow someone.
Auditions began in late November and as part of tryouts we all had to sing a song and do a little bit of dancing.Proper practice for the musical didn't commence until after the Christmas break. There was a lot of chopping and changing on the cast and those who had a part became known as the principles and were regularly called from class to rehearse. Separate to principal rehearsals each form class also had rehearsals every week, where they would practice their songs and dance routines. Me I was part of one of the dance groups and I had 2 dance parts.Towards the musical itself rehearsals became more frequent. First we ran through part 1 of the musical, then part 2 and finally the whole thing. Then come the musical we each had to try on our various costumes and organise everything so that the musical ran smoothly. This was probably the most stressful part of the whole experience. We preformed for a full week first twice for the junior school and then In the evening for the parents. The most memorable aspect of the whole experience was the atmosphere of performing on stage in front of an audience or the sheer excitement and anticipation of of waiting backstage. The musical has so far been one of the highlights of my TY year.
