St. Vincent de Paul hamper packing
Just before the Christmas holidays we all gathered in the sports hall and organised ourselves into groups of ten. Then we arranged all the items to be used around the hall. We began by packing all the heavy, tinned items at the bottom and lighter items at the top. After this the boxes were placed into trucks and were distributed to local families in need. I greatly enjoyed the experience. Afterwards I felt good of myself thinking about all the underprivileged families, in the local area, that we would be caring for especially during this time of need. I definitely found the experience worthwhile
Dignity Bags
On the same day as the St. Vincent de Paul hamper packing we also packed Dignity Bags. Bags which are filled with toiletries and wash products. These were to be given to rough sleepers on the streets and in shelters to help them during this tough time. This was a rewarding experience that really did some good.
